1. What LexCase does
LexCase keeps a lawyer's cases, hearing dates, client contacts, fees and notes in one place, reminds the lawyer about upcoming hearings, and — when the lawyer switches it on for a case — sends that lawyer's client a WhatsApp or SMS reminder the day before the hearing.
2. What we collect
We only collect what the app needs to work. There is no advertising, no tracking across other apps or websites, and no profiling.
Information you give us
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Your name, email address and (optional) phone number | To create and identify your account and to contact you about your account. |
| Your sign-in PIN | To sign you in. The PIN is stored only as a salted one-way hash — we cannot read it. |
| Google account name, email and account identifier (only if you choose "Continue with Google") | To sign you in without a password. |
| Case details: case number, title, type, status, court, courtroom, jurisdiction, judge, statute, opposing party and counsel, agreed fee and due date | These are the records the app exists to keep. |
| Case notes | Kept for you. Notes are encrypted before they are written to the database. |
| Hearing dates, times, purpose, outcome and adjournment reasons | To show your calendar and to send reminders. |
| Payments you record against a case | To show what a client has paid and what is outstanding. |
| Your client's name, phone number, WhatsApp number and email, as you enter them | Only so the app can send the hearing reminder you asked it to send to that client. |
| Your language, currency and notification preferences | To show the app the way you set it. |
Information created automatically
- Sign-in sessions — a session record per device, with the sign-in time. The session token itself is stored only as a hash.
- Push notification token — issued by Google Firebase Cloud Messaging so hearing reminders can reach your device. Stored with the device platform and language.
- Security log — the IP address and a short description for account actions such as signing in, changing a PIN, verifying an email or deleting an account, plus failed sign-in counters used for lockout after repeated wrong PINs.
- Reminder delivery records — for each client reminder: the recipient number, whether it went by WhatsApp or SMS, the delivery status, the provider's message reference, and any error. We keep these so you can see what reached your client and so billing is accurate.
- Email verification and PIN-reset codes — stored as hashes with an expiry, and discarded after use.
- Backups — encrypted backups of the database, so your records survive a server failure.
LexCase does not collect your location, your contacts, your photos, your files, your call logs or your SMS inbox, and it does not read anything on your device outside the app.
3. Permissions the app asks for
- Internet — to reach the LexCase server. Without it the app cannot sync.
- Notifications — to alert you about your own hearings and about your account. You can refuse this permission or turn notifications off later; the rest of the app keeps working.
The app does not request access to photos, media, storage, contacts, the camera, the microphone or location.
4. Why we are allowed to use this data
- To perform our agreement with you — running your account, storing your cases, sending the reminders you ask for.
- Our legitimate interest — keeping the service secure, preventing abuse, and keeping accurate records of paid reminders.
- Your consent — device notifications, and switching client reminders on for a case. You can withdraw either at any time in the app.
5. Your clients' data
When you enter a client's phone number and switch reminders on, you decide what is sent and to whom; we process that contact detail on your instruction and use it for nothing else. It is your responsibility to have your client's agreement to be messaged, and to comply with the professional and data-protection rules that apply to you. A client can be removed from reminders at any time by switching reminders off for the case or deleting the case.
6. Who else sees the data
We do not sell personal data, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not give it to anyone for their own purposes. Data is shared only with the service providers that make the app work:
| Provider | What they receive |
|---|---|
| Meta Platforms (WhatsApp Cloud API) | The client's WhatsApp number and the reminder text, in order to deliver it. |
| Our SMS operator | The client's phone number and the reminder text, when WhatsApp delivery is not possible. |
| Google (Sign-In and Firebase Cloud Messaging) | Your Google account identifier when you sign in with Google; your device push token and the notification text when we send a notification. |
| Our email provider | Your email address and the message, for verification codes, PIN-reset codes and account notices. |
| Hostinger (hosting) | Stores the application and database on our behalf. |
We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
7. Where data is stored, and for how long
Data is held on our hosting provider's servers and transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections. PINs and session tokens are hashed; case notes and backups are encrypted.
- Your account and case records are kept for as long as your account exists.
- When you delete your account, your cases, hearings, payments, notes, client contacts, notifications, device tokens and sessions are deleted within 30 days.
- Reminder delivery records and security-log entries are kept for up to 12 months after deletion for billing accuracy, fraud prevention and dispute resolution, then removed.
- Encrypted backups rotate and are overwritten within 90 days.
8. Your rights and choices
- View and correct your details in the app, under Profile.
- Turn any notification type on or off, and switch client reminders on or off per case.
- Delete your account from the app (Profile → Delete account), or ask us to do it on the account deletion page.
- Ask for a copy of your data, or for its correction, restriction or deletion, by emailing mubarikelectronic457@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days.
- If you are in a region with data-protection supervisory authorities, you may complain to yours.
9. Security
Access to the production database is limited to the people who operate the service. Sign-in is protected by a hashed PIN, progressive lockout after repeated failures, and per-device sessions you can end at any time. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach ever affects your data we will tell affected users and the relevant authority without undue delay.
10. Children
LexCase is a professional tool for lawyers and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.
11. International transfers
LexCase is operated from the United States and its providers process data in the United States, Europe and Asia. Where data leaves your country, we rely on our providers' standard contractual safeguards.
12. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes we will update this page and change the effective date at the top. Significant changes will also be announced in the app.
